Folk sessions

Most start around 8:30pm and go on until closing time. Mixed sessions around here are mostly English and Irish music, but could also be French, American, Swedish - depends who turns up.

Every Sunday Half Moon, St Clements, Oxford Mixed songs and tunes, gets very crowded and noisy but the pub will go quiet for an unaccompanied song. Not the same as the legendary days of Joe Ryan and GMW but still a good night.
3rd Sunday Cherry Tree, Steventon (South of Abingdon) English tunes, lots of concertinas
1st Monday Killingworth Castle, Wootton (North of Kidlington) Mixed songs and tunes
2nd Tuesday Chester Arms, Chester St, Oxford French tunes, Blowzabella style with pipes and hurdygurdies
3rd Friday Abingdon Arms, Wantage Mixed songs and tunes
4th Friday Isis Tavern, on the river near Iffley Lock, Oxford English songs and tunes, descends into pop music later
